MY STORY

Hannah Esmaili is the founder of Counselling2Wellness and a psychotherapist/social worker with over fourteen years of experience working with individuals, couples, families and groups. Hannah has worked with clients in various health care settings. She graduated with a Master of Social Work degree from York University in 2008 and a Master of Counselling Psychology from University of Toronto in 2015. She is a Certified Clinical Trauma Professional Level II (CCTP, CCTP-II), in good standing with the Ontario College of Registered Social Workers and Social Service Workers, and the College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario.

My Approach

Hannah’s previous experience includes 14 years of providing treatment to clients in private practice and in an outpatient hospital setting. She has experience working with individuals diagnosed with anxiety, depression, post traumatic stress disorder, low self-esteem, anger management, grief and loss, addiction and marital, family, relationship distress and complex trauma.

Anger management counseling is a specialized form of therapy that is designed to help individuals learn healthy coping mechanisms for managing their anger. Through counseling, you can gain a deeper understanding of the underlying causes of your anger, learn techniques for managing your emotions, and develop communication skills to resolve conflicts in a healthy way.

Hannah’s training and professional development are in the areas of: Dialectical Behavioural Therapy, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Gottman Method for marital therapy, Complex Trauma Certification Training lI (CCTP, CCTP-II), Sensorimotor psychotherapy, Emotion-focused and Psychodynamic therapy.

Aidan McNaughton

Registered Psychotherapist

Aidan works with clients faced with challenges such as depression, anxiety, stress, trauma, grief/loss, chronic pain, and major life transitions. His therapeutic approach is client-centred and combines emotion-focused and solution-focused methodologies. Aidan customizes his therapy sessions for each individual client based on their unique background, values, and presenting concerns. As a result, his approach draws on a range of modalities, including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioural Therapy (DBT), Mindfulness, Humanistic therapy, and Psychodynamics.

Aidan is a Registered Psychotherapist (Qualifying) in good standing with the College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario (CRPO). His training includes a soon-to-be completed Master’s degree in Counselling and Psychotherapy. He previously completed a Bachelor of Arts (Honors) degree focused on psychology and counselling at the University of Western Ontario.

MY STORY

Hue is a psychotherapist (q) with the College of registered psychotherapists of Ontario CRPO. She graduated from the Canadian College of Naturopathic Medicine in Toronto and she also received dual master’s degrees in Psychological Counseling in Education (EdM) and Organizational Psychology (MA) from Columbia University in New York city.

Hue’s practice primarily focuses on evaluating, managing and optimizing mental and physical resiliency. She focuses her practice heavily on treating trauma using EMDR (Eye movement desensitization and reprocessing) therapy.

Hue incorporates knowledge of modern, traditional and natural forms of treatment to provide individual care. She believes in order to achieve and maintain optimal health it is necessary to attain equilibrium by understanding the interconnections and inseparable connections between the mind and the body. Hue’s passion is in promoting patient education, disease prevention and furthering the development of integrated health care.

Hue believes that we all have the ability to grow and change. This leads her to pay attention to client strengths, in addition to their challenges. It is her belief that therapy cannot only help clients address concerns and symptoms, but also assist them in developing greater connection and meaning in their lives.

Hue holds central the need for clients to be partners in their therapeutic work. She strives to demystify the therapy process and work closely with clients, to ensure that the goals addressed are those of the client. Hue believes that honest exchange between client and therapist helps lead to achieving these goals.

SONIA BAKER

My Story

Sonia is a psychotherapist with 16 years of experience in the field of mental health. Sonia is currently a registered psychotherapist with CRPO and in good standing with the college. She has a Master of Counselling in Counselling Psychology from the University of Athabasca. She has had the pleasure of working with families, couples and youth in a clinical setting for many years.

Sonia works from a holistic and strength-based approach and integrates various health and wellness models into her practice. She has studied cognitive behavioural techniques combined with positive psychology interventions, solution-focused interventions, mindfulness techniques, attachment theory, Behavioural Therapy For Children and incorporates elements of health and well-being when working with individuals and families.

A holistic approach truly allows Sonia to target all aspects of a person’s life, and from her experience, this approach lends to the most successful and transformative therapeutic results.

SHERI MOGHISPOUR

My Story

Sheri completed a bachelor of Arts in Psychology from York University, a diploma in Child and Youth Care from George Brown College, and a Master of Arts in Counselling Psychology from Yorkville University. Sheri works from an anti-oppressive and culturally responsive framework, and she strives to empower clients through a positive attitude, validation, compassion, and well-regarded interpersonal skills.

Sheri has extensive experience working in complex mental health settings, working with individuals and families to overcome barriers that prevent them from leading their best and most fulfilling lives. Her approach is holistic, meaning that she utilizes techniques from a wide array of therapeutic modalities. These include solution-focused therapy (SFT), cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT), mindfulness-based strategies, motivational interviewing (MI), and collaborative problem solving (CPS). Sheri’s uses a strengths-based, client-centred, and trauma-informed approach to develop individualized and integrative treatment plans. She doesn’t believe in a one size fits all approach, so you can expect a treatment plan that is tailored to your needs and your goals.

Outside of the clinic, you can find Sheri spending time with friends and family, reading, practicing mindfulness and working at a Day Treatment Program, where she provides therapy and service coordination for youth and their families; predominantly those struggling in a mainstream school settings for reasons such as school avoidant behaviour, social anxiety.

KIMIA AKRAMI

My Story

Kimia is a Registered Psychotherapist (Qualifying) in good standing with the CRPO and holds two master’s degrees: one in Counseling and Psychotherapy from the University of Toronto and the other in Clinical Psychology from Azad University. She has extensive clinical experience working in private practice as well as in hospital and outpatient settings. Kimia completed her clinical training at the Centre for Addiction and Mental Health (CAMH), providing Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT) to individuals and groups from diverse backgrounds with complex mental health needs.

Kimia specializes in working with individuals and families on relational issues, anxiety, depression, addictive behaviours, low self-esteem, grief, and trauma. Kimia’s approach is client-centered and integrative. She draws from Psychodynamic Therapy, DBT, EFT, CBT and Existential Therapy. In sessions with Kimia, you will experience a warm, safe and non-judgmental space where you can explore issues, process difficult emotions, deepen your understanding of yourself and move toward your therapeutic goals.

Kimia believes in both the power of insight-oriented as well as skills-based therapies and strives to keep a balance of helping clients develop insight and awareness into their past and unconscious processes as well as equipping them with effective skills to add to their toolbox.

My Story

Julie Jaglowitz is a Registered Psychotherapist with the College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario (CRPO), and a Registered Marriage and Family Therapist with the Canadian Association for Marriage and Family Therapy (CAMFT).

Julie graduated from the Master of Science Couple and Family Therapy Program at the University of Guelph in 2004. She completed a BA in Child and Youth Care from the University of Victoria in 2000 and a diploma in Special Education from Langara College in BC in 1995.

Julie has worked with Children, Youth, Couples and Families in private practice, schools, substance misuse programs, groups homes, mental health agencies and community and settings. She has also taught at the University of Guelph, University of Guelph/Humber, George Brown and continues to teach at Sheridan College.

Julie’s therapeutic practice is grounded in systemic, strength-based, anti-oppressive and trauma informed and culturally safe practices. Julie committed to creating brave, affirming spaces for all people. She is an ally of the Disability, 2SLGBTQIA+ and BIPOC communities and supports clients to consider the complex and cumulative ways multiple forms of oppression intersect.

She pulls from a variety of different theoretical frameworks that ensures she remains curious and that each individual and family are met where they are at. Some of these include Cognitive Behaviour Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, Harm Reduction, Narrative Therapy, Solution Focused Therapy, and the Gottman Method of Relationship Therapy. Julie also uses when appropriate theraplay, play, storytelling, music, art and talk therapy to help individuals and families live their preferred life.
